So WI King Alexander of Greece (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_I_of_Greece)isn't bitten by two monkeys while coming to the defense of his dog and therefore doesn't die of sepsis, which in turn means his father Constantine I (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constantine_I_of_Greece) doesn't return to the throne. Upon his return(which now will not happen)Constantine removed most of the Greek Army's best commanders whom he thought were disloyal. And replaced them with more loyal but less experienced commanders like Anastasios Papoulas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anastasios_Papoulas). This led to a complete reversal in the war in Anatolia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greco-Turkish_War_(1919%E2%80%931922)), which before hand the Greeks had been winning. Without this meddling its likely Greek defeats at the First Battle of Inonu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Battle_of_%C4%B0n%C3%B6n%C3%BC) and the Second Battle of Inonu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Battle_of_%C4%B0n%C3%B6n%C3%BC) do not take place or are Greek victories and that the Battle of Afyonkarahisar-Eskisehir (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Afyonkarahisar-Eski%C5%9Fehir) is more decisive and quickly followed up with a crossing of the Sakarya river rather than waiting a month to give the Turks time to prepare for the Battle of Sakarya (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Sakarya).

If the Greeks take Ankara is it possible the Turks would sue for peace?

No.

Turks don't take kindly to being genocided. And Britain doesn't take kindly to its client state Greece doing genocide.

so, long story short, Greece is going to get its ass handed to it diplomatically and militarily.

Honestly its a pretty pointless exercise for Greece to try and hold part of mainland Anatolia it will eventually lose the population balance simply favors Turkey too much once Greece finds itself without a great power backing it. It's really a question of when not if. Short of getting Constantinople which would take the next best thing to ASB. Greece's best bet would be try and fortify its chunk of Thrace and resettle what Greeks it can from Asia Minor there.

if i recall, you were present for at least one (if not two) of the discussions on that topic.

Greece in OTL slaughtered Turks, Jews, non-enosis Greeks.
Turkey only slaughters people in ATLs.

Yes, Greece slaughtered, ethnically cleansed, and killed a lot of people in it's war against Turkey. In fact both sides committed disgusting atrocities against the other and neither can claim any moral high ground. So, as previously stated, you would as a result of this have thousands if not hundreds of thousands more dead or forcefully being relocated.

But onto the specific TL. Alexander staying in power means that there is more focus on the Asian Minor rather than trying to gain Constantinople, it means that you still have experienced generals in power, and it means Greece still, at least at the moment, would receive some support from the Great powers. However even with all that Greece still has little chance holding onto anything within the Asian Minor, though it would be possible with some extreme luck/unluck for Greece and Turkey respectively.

Of course you would have to look at the effects that this would have on both Greece, Turkey, and the region. For instance, any region that Greece gains, even more so for Constantinople, would be economically ruined due to a combination of war and population exchanges. Greece would also be forced to have a extremely militarized border with Turkey due to the fact that, no doubt, they would want revenge for what had happened. So overall Greece would be left economically and financially ruined, it would probably have another war with Turkey that would no doubt devastate the entire region, and politically both powers would probably be destabilized to who knows what level.
