What if the united states had an anti Nazi(Black scare? Brown scare?) in the late 1930s and throughout the war, similar to the red scare

The US did have a limited Nazi scare. We interned lots of German American Bund sympathizers---including one of my stepfather's uncles. And there was plenty of propaganda about Nazi spies.

I know What I mean is a full scale, mass panic, absoulute terror and paranoia/people losing their jobs for being anti-semetic and thus having Nazi sympathies scare

Then I would expect something of a backlash against this, and at least a few people defiantly being "pro-Nazi", without really understanding what that meant.
