A side conference has begun to discuss schemes for getting the nations of the world back into space, even more so than in our original tls, since we have to assume the ASBs are out there and be prepared should they return.

The Republic of Zaire has excellent equatorial space launch and tracking facilities. We like the idea of establishing permanant bases on the Moon and other space initiatives.

Hmmm....anyone have an outline map of the moon? ;)

The Iberic Union government is really interested in this initiative. We have launching installations in the Açores and we had ready for launch several modules for our orbital base. They could be refitted for an international project.

This sounds like an excellent beginning to the Republic of Zaire. Would the Iberic Union be interested in utilizing launch facilities in Equatorial Uganda?

The problem is that we'll have to move the equipment to that base. Maybe we can launch what we have in the Açores and then continue launching from the Zairean facilities.

This seems like a sensible proposal.
