Arc Light as AH

What do you all think of Eric Harry's first novel (well, the one that made him famous) Arc Light? It can now be considered AH, especially since it was published in 1995.

What would happen after the end of the book? Has a deus ex machina ending (but the ending is necessary for obvious purposes--and no, I won't tell you what it is.) but is a good book overall.

Presumabully the americans work hard to rebuild themselves, while stripping russia of their nukes. The americans move away from Europe, perhaps inviting Britain and their allies to become new states or part of a closer allience. China moves north to take land stolen by the Tsars, coming into conflict with the US. Russia starves while US tries to build a free-market econony in russia - a new movement arrises blaming everything on the US...
