I knocked together a small article on Robert 'Numbers' Conroy while waiting for people to come and fix my flat. Anyone care to add to it? :)
Keep it fun. I'd rather it stay whimsical and not become a platform for militant ultra-Conroy fans, should they exist.

Brilliant work Wanda. I've only read 1901 but he does seem to have that thing going for him (Eric Flint's the same, but in his case it oddly shifts in 1824 so that now all Americans are bad guys and the only good American is an Arkansasan American  )

Thank you to Robertp6165 for correcting my many errors. I don't think you needed to change 'The Kaiser was not a Happy Bunny' though :o

I actually like Conroy. He can have ASB/Mary Sue moments but i like his books much more then Turtledove.

Well, it just seemed kind of...bizarre...thinking of Kaiser Bill in a bunny suit. That's an image I didn't need to have hopping around in my head. :p Besides, the long ears would get in the way of his Pickelhaube.;)

Oh dear, I think we've found another British phrase that puzzles foreigners...
(One of my colleagues had to explain 'teach your grandmother to suck eggs' to a Romanian earlier :D )

I figured it was equivalent to "not a Happy Camper".
I have no idea what "teach your grandmother to suck eggs" is.

So did I. What else could it have meant as it was used in that sentence? It doesn't detract from the bizarreness of it or remove that damned image of Kaiser Bill in a bunny suit from my head.:p
