staying logged in

These days I'm forced to log in every time I revisit this time, one time twice during one session. Formerly I was automatically logged in when coming back online.
What's happened?

Mayhaps you're clearing your cookies or something Or you're not clicking the Remember Me option by the log in...

I haven't had any problems. What browser are you using?

Log out, then when you go to login, check the remember me box is checked

I hadn't had any problem until recently. And just now I was writing something to post, I opened a new browser window to check on something at wikipedia, and I was going back and forth, then when I tried to post the message I found I'd been logged out. I hadn't checked "Remember Me" because I never needed to before. I wonder if opening another browser window is the problem?
I don't think it was ever a problem before.

I recently commented on the emergence of this problem and never having had to check 'Remember Me' in the past. Now I do so automatically and the problem is gone. But that doesn't explain where it came from :)
