My "1776" TL needs a good, descriptive map. Can anyone help me make it?

Sure, I'll help. I did the Decades of Darkness Maps for Kaiser Wilhelm. Just direct me to the TL and I'll take a look.

just say on this thread what you'd like the borders to be and when I get my laptop out of the shop I'll try my hand at making the map(s)

Here's a description of the map.
Union of North America (formerly the Empire of North America until 1901. Anglophone countries):
*CANADA: north of the Great Lakes, upper New York state including the Adriondacks; includes Nova Scotia and Newfoundland; bounded on the west by a line from the headwaters of the Rainy river to James Bay.
Capital: Montreal
*NEW ENGLAND: bounded by the Hudson River in the west; Appalachian drainage in the north; and the St. John river in the east.
Capital: Boston
*PENNSYLVANIA: bounded by the Hudson River in the east; the Potomac in the south, includes the Delmarva peninsula; the Monongahela river in the west and OTL boundary of Ohio-Pennsylvania; and bounded by a line approximately from Rochester, NY, to Albany.
Capital: Philadelphia
*VIRGINIA: bounded by the Potomac in the north; the Appalachians in the west; and the NC-SC border in the south.
Capital: Richmond
*FLORIDA: bounded by the NC-SC border in the north and the Appalachians as well as the Apalachicola river in the west.
Capital: St. Augustine
*APPALACHIA: bounded on the east by the Appalachians and the Apalachicola river; bounded on the west by the Mississippi, a line from just north of Baton Rouge to Lake Ponchartrain; bounded on the north by the Ohio.
Capital: Foxborough (OTL Knoxville)
*LACUSTRIA: west of the OH-PA border, north of the Ohio, north of the North Platte river to the Continental Divide; bounded on the north by the 60th Parallel.
Capital: Constance (OTL Chicago)
*OREGON: west of the Continental Divide, south of the 60th Parallel, north of the Mexican border (see below.) It includes the Motherlode and Comstock Lode of our time.
Capital: Liverpool (OTL Portland)
Lands held in common by all Realms of the Union of North America:
*Northwest Territory: everything north of the 60th Parallel to the Continental Divide. (but not the Ungava Peninsula in Quebec, which is part of Canada.)
*Yukon Territory: north of the Alaska Range to the Continental Divide. Basically the Yukon drainage.
*Aleska Territory: everything south of the Alaska Range to the Continental Divide. Includes the Aleutian Islands.
The Republic of Louisiana (officially Francophone, but with majority British and Spanish settlement.)
Bounded on the east by the Mississippi to Baton Rouge, to Lake Ponchartrain; on the north by the Missouri and Platte rivers; on the west by the Continental Divide, the Canadian river to about our Oklahoma City, where it turns due south and connects to the Colorado River of Texas.
Capital: New Orleans
The Empire of Mexico: The border of Mexico is a rough line running from the San Francisco Bay to the Uinta Moutains in northern Utah and to the Louisiana border somewhere in our Colorado.
Capital: Mexico City
If you need more specifics, don't be afraid to ask!

Bump!
Is there anyone who wants to take up this challenge?
Here is an added feature: use the heraldic colors of the Realms (Filling-trim)
New England--Red
Pennsylvania--Black
Virginia--Purple
Florida--Gold
Canada--White
Appalachia--Brown
Lacustria--Blue
Oregon--Green

Im working on a similiar project, but its on the back burner right now.
How big do you want Appalachia? It extends as far south as North Georgia and as far north as parts of New York state, the Appalachia culture is very similiar throughout the area, and has access to one of the Great Lakes. Pittsburgh or Nashville will make a nice capital

My Appalachia is west of the Apalachicola (Chatahoochee) River and the Appalachian Mts, east of the Mississippi (save for New Orleans,) and south of the Ohio/Monongahela to the Proclamation Line of 1763.
While Appalachia does not have access to the Great Lakes (that's Lacustria's dominion) it does have the Gulf Coast.

Lacustria is a huge country south of the 60th Parallel, stretching from northern British Columbia (east of the Continental Divide, of course) all the way to Pennsylvania!
More specifically, west of the Ohio-Pennsylvania border, north of the Ohio River, north of the Missouri River and north of the 40th Parallel (the Louisiana border, better known as the Quarantine Line) all the way to the Continental Divde (the Oregon border) to the 60th Parallel (Northwest Territories) east to Hudson Bay and the Canadian border (the shortest line between James Bay and Lake Superior.)
I hope this helps!

As you noticed, I changed Lacustria's border with Louisiana; now it is the Kansas-Nebraska border all the way west to the Continental Divide. This may be of interest to people from Boulder, Colorado, in particular, now that their "perfect town" has the Quarantine Line running through it (on Baseline Road, I believe...)
