View Full Version : Script

Now that I have tried and written around a bit on the WIKI, I can say that it's fun.
However, the script syntax does not really add to the fun.
At least without experience it seems a bit tricky,
much trickier than actual html, because the Syntax help does not provide a complete
set of rules.
Perhaps someone can help me with some issues?
For instance, I would like to use line breaks and paragraph breaks inside
list items.
If I try to, the parser sees that as and end of the list environment,
or breaks lines to start without indenting.
Do you know that problem, or a solution to it?
Would be great.

Being able to properly format your Forum posts might be a start. :p
What page are you trying to change? Might I have a look?

Wow, what's that for a quick reply?

Of course! I am still cobbling around with http://wiki.alternatehistory.com/doku.php/alternate_history/language_help_-_german
The 1., 1., 1. list at the beginning is a brilliant example of this issue.
Would be great if you come up with something!
(If you scroll down the page, you might notice I am not completely illiterate at formatting ...)

What exactly makes you think I did not want it like that?

I'll take a look. I've been drinking, so I might forget my password and not be able to do a thing.
You just need some line breaks right?

just a guess, doesn't look like the posts usually seen. they tend to take up all the horizontal space that they can, rambling on and on about trivial things and making their sentences longer than they need to in order to make it look like they actually have a point.;)

I've been drinking,
Perfect! Go for creative design. :D

Well, I could use line breaks inside a list item which do not lead to indented paragraphs,
without interrupting the numbering.
Example:
1. Short description of first list item.
. A little paragraph illustrates the main point.
. After another line break, an example can be found.
2. Continuing the list leads to cosecutive numbers.
The given page looks a bit different :(

Being a control freak at times, I prefer to make my own line breaks.
More precisely, I refuse being dictated line breaks by some text editor!

And btw, how do you center a text line?
