Just nuts but, what if our Earth in 2005 suddenly replaced the Earth of Star Trek's, circa, say the latest Trek film. Assuming of course, Trek were as real as our world.

Well here are several things to notice. First, Earth would be suffering from the aftermath of the Eugenics War (1992-1996) wherein up to 14 countries had ther governments taken over by Supermen (OS). You would have "sleeper ships" in orbit and under construction in several major countries. NASA is receiving telemetry from the Stargazer Probe (OS). In Hangar 18, a Federation Space Shuttle would be under investigation (DS9). in Second, there would actually be whale-sized tanks at the Marin Bay Aquarium (ST4). In Silicon Valley pieces of "transparent aluminum" are found at various stages of production (ST4). In Los Angeles and San Jose, California there is a mysterious software company named "Bendix" (VOY). Cryogenic freeze stations are common, and one station is currently in orbit (TNG). There is a massive construction project in Portage Creek called the "Millenium Gate" (VOY). Libraries report copies of books by "Benny Russell"(DS9) and one titled "Chicago Mobs in the Twenties" (OS).

Well, probably not very good for the Federation, what with its Capital suddenly replaced by a (by there standards) Dark Ages version of itself. But what with the Dominion war just over and all, I don’t think the Klingons and the Romulans would really be able to take advantage. Probably the net result would be Federation Capitol moves to Vulcan, Earth Isolated until the proper time for first contact(unless it happens Accidentally, then yeah, Happy Trekkies :D .)

The Federation brings back the death penalty to deal with Trekkies who will not stop nitpicking.

According to the recent stories in the series, you can expect to find the following problems:

- People are inevitably killed, injured, or plain insulted by a malfunctioning holodeck program...
- People are inevitably killed, injured or mutated by a malfunctioning teleporter device....
- People use the warp drive to slingshot around the sun to, as Moe Sizlack would say, "nail some cavewoman hookers"...
- Babylon 5 and Star Wars fans beat the crap out of Trekkers for creating such a poorly written coninuity...Doctor Who fans catch the whole matter on camera...

Wouldn't the Moon still be inhabited if Earth is replaced? Seeing lakes and cities and such up there would be a dead giveaway... Not to mention Spacedock and all the orbital facilities, starships, etc.

On the other hand, these dark agers are actually competent in conducting military operations and engineering projects.

not only that but they just might pick up a few episodes of Startrek (any series)
and be shocked.
Contact would be very hard to avoid and what about humans that now don't have a home?
If our world is there then is Starfleet earth here? What about them?

Actually per Spock in Space Seed it was over 40 countries that the Supermen/Augments took over.

Michael- Glad to be back, I just got back recently from some campaign work and yes, it was extremely time-consuming. But as long as we are nit-picking, I guess that means no one will bring up the fact taht there seems to be a major discrepancy in when the Eugenics Wars takes place. According to the Original Series and movies, the war took place in 1992-1996. Yet according to Enterprise and Deep Space Nine, the war takes place in 2029-2033, after the Bell Riots of 2024. To make matters worse, according to the Temporal Cold War there was also a bioterrorist who kidnapped several people in Detroit last year, or like other events, never happened at all....
