During the UN conference against slavery the Great Powers; The US, the UK, France, the USSR and the Republic of China all condemned slavery, and have announced they'd push for a UN resolution to condemn all nations were slavery is legal. This happened only weeks after the annual Slave holding nations summit in Cairo, where new markets between Egypt- Sudan and Ethiopia were announced. Slavery is today legal in Egypt- Sudan, the Empire of Ethiopia, Mauretania, the Sokoto Caliphate, the Sultanate of Zanzibar and the Hashemite Caliphate (with puppet emirates). Slavery can be divided into the categories of Chattel slavery, serfdom, debt slavery and peonage. What do you guys think??

About time. I don't care how poor slave nations are, I still care about them and their inhabitants. I doubt they will be able to keep hold of their slaves, assuming the UN really turns the screws on them.

ooc: what form of slavery? the Confederacy's chattel slavery? the UK and Union's wage slavery? the Ottomans' rank slavery? (in which a nobleman's slave has a higher social status than a free peasant)

OOC; pretty much third world slavery that in this TL has survived in a couple of nations in Africa and the Arab World. The great powers condemned all the types of slavery that existed; serfdom, chattel slavery, debt slavery and peonage.
