I'm going to try this again. What would have happened in The Dark Night of Rachel survived and Harvey had died? Would much have changed? Sorry if this is a spoiler to anyone.

Not a lot, really, Batman still has his love interest, and Harvey dies in the explosion instead of his cause of death being lied about. Oh, and a few criminals are still alive instead of being killed by Harvey. The only real difference is that it makes a worse movie.

Well, I can see the Joker (if they use another actor for the Joker) twisting her mind so she becomes Harley Quinn. Fuck, after that (being rescued by Batman, who she knows is Bruce Wayne) I could twist her mind to be Harley Quinn. Just tell her that Batsy finally snapped and set up this elaborate ruse to start controlling the City. She'd believe it, the evidence is there: Billionaire Playboy courts her (High-powered City Lawyer with the ear of the DA and Police Commissioner's) then lets her go into the arms of Harvey Dent while he consolidates his Ninja-skills in a take over of the underworld (she doesn't know the Joker has pretty much taken over the Criminal side of things). Bruce Wayne kills his rival and the one who would probably prosecute him (if ever caught) and the one who his subconscious hated for taking away Batman from him in the public eye "Harvey Dent and his "I'm the Batman" shit made him crazy. He convinces her that Batman/Bruce has to be stopped before he destroys the entire town. She might not be a total anarchist, but I'm sure she'd make a wonderful Harley Quinn.

They wouldn't have squandered Harvey Dent. However, more likely there would have been a third actress playing Rachel in the third movie. Maggie Gyllenhaal just doesn't cut it.
