I've been trying to attach a bitmap to a test message without success.
Doesn't "bmp" stand for bitmap?

It doesn't seem to want to be savad as anything else either.

yes, bmp does stand for bitmap. Bitmaps usually are quite large in file size, however...that may be why you can't upload it here, as only relatively small files can be uploaded. If you have microsoft paint, you can try going there and saving the file as a .jpg or a .gif and see if that works.
