(It's somewhere in the Northeast USA, but anyone may talk, it's 1 week after the attack on Pearl Harbor, my character rises up to speak before the group, a intellectualy bunch that likes asking "what if" questions).
Man, can you believe those sneaky Japanese could have gotten us so badly? Half the Pacific fleet is at the bottom, many of our islands throughout the Pacific have already been invaded. And we're only a week into the war! Thank god our Carriers weren't destroyed, other wise we'd REALLY be up the creek. And now those Nazis and Italians have declared war on us. I know we'll win, there's NO WAY America will fail, what with our big industrial capacity and huge amount of men. But how are we gonna be able to win this war anytime soon, I don't know. We'd need to sink something like half the Japanese carriers AND free france (Yes, I know, I thought the french would stop the Germans too, NOW STOP ANNOYING ME ABOUT IT!), AND beat those Italians AND bring the war straight to the heart of the Axis. I'm gonna guess the war will be over in 1949, but who knows, maybe it'll be over by 1945, that's my optimistic guess. And by the way, remember, all able bodied men are asked to sign up for the Army, Navy, Marines or Army Air Force. I tried, but I was 4F, something about my feet being too flat. Bizarre.
