It was 1943. The place was the Teheran Conference. Stalin met with Churchill and Roosevelt, confident that his secret was safe...

The Secret History of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union

1933 Germany is taken over by the Nazi Party, which is actually a front for the Soviet Communist Party. Thus does Germany become a Soviet puppet state.

1934-1938 Stalin has long desired to rid his country of Jews, so he uses Germany as a "test bed" for the policies he plans to implement in the Soviet Union. Upon receiving instructions from him, the Nazis begin imposing restrictions on the Jews living in Germany.

1938-1939 Stalin purges the Communist Party and the Red Army, even as his Nazi puppets expand Germany's borders. He then decides the two countries will drop the antagonistic facade and begin openly cooperating.

1939-1940 Stalin's Soviet/Nazi empire begins expanding in earnest, with Germany getting most of the Allies' attention. By late 1940, he basically owns Europe. Unfortunately, it is at this stage that his plan starts to go wrong.

1941 The Nazis are no longer content to take orders from Stalin, and begin making their own plans. Germany puts together an anti-Soviet alliance as it prepares to win back its independence. Realizing what is about to happen, Stalin uses it to his advantage. He forbids his military to take any provocative action. It is his hope that a completely unprovoked attack will win him sympathy from the Allies. At the same time, all documents regarding the truth about German-Soviet relations are destroyed, with the exception of a few copies that are hidden away.

1941-1945 Germany and its allies advance deep into Soviet territory, and for a while its seems the Soviet Union might fall. Eventually, though, the tide turns and the Allies advance on Germany from all sides. In 1945, the Red Army enters pre-war Berlin, Stalin have insisted on being allowed to taket the capital. The NKVD follows soon after, siezing any German documents that might reveal what had happened during the 1930's.

1946-1953 Encouraged by what had happened in Germany, Stalin plans to implement his long-delayed anti-semitic policies. Before it can get off the ground though, Stalin dies, and the secret of Nazi Germany follows him to his grave. Or so it seems.

Years after the fall of the Soviet Union, the surviving copies of the "lost documents" are uncovered, and the truth is revealed at last.

What happens next?

Validating the documents could be tricky...

Umm, scenario sounds like a Ludlum plot: "The Tristan Betrayal" ??

Could be a great ATL: How are you going to play it ??
