Ansible-instant communication!

Remember the ansible in the DISPOSSESSED(sP)? This little dude could provide instant REAL TIME communication.What if it came available here?What would it be used for?Could it be adapted to computers and Internet and TV?

Ummm, I may be a little off base here, but much of world, we already have instant communication in the form of the telephone, cell phone and sattelite phone. How would an ansible be any different.
