We should have a thread for BAM maps as I love them much and can not find them. Who wants to start?

That's strange, your misspelling cancels out your Redundant Acronym Syndrome.

BAM maps

Yet another example of RAS Syndrome, class! One that makes no sense outside of this forum!

On-topic, I think I have seen a BAM thread before.

Just to confirm, BAM stands for 'Big-Ass Maps', right? [As opposed to 'Big Ass-Maps'].

RAS Syndrome
Did you do that on purpose? :D

Well, as the term was coined by an Australian, it's technically Big-Arsed Maps. But we translate it into American for convenience.

'Big-Arsed Maps'? Maps with big arses? What?

It's using ass or arse as an intensifier. It's not necessarily literal, as in the phrase 'badass' for instance, or 'I can't be arsed to do that'.

I've always seen it as RAS Syndrome, rather than just aRedundant Acronym Syndrome. It's certainly more fun that way.

I know, I was confused by the fact that you used 'Big-ArseD Maps' instead of just 'Big-Arse Maps'.

Yeah if it was an aussie its was probably big-arse maps, big arsed doesnt sound right.

and you know who as RAS, Indonesians, everything is acronymed and they take letters from everywhere in words to make the acronym sound good.

my favourite being wakpres
