I often think about this one because of the fun it lets me have. What if Alien Space Bats came down and appointed regular citizens as emperors. Big countries like the USA, Canada, China, India, and even the stronger ones in Europe, are broken into provinces and states, while the so-called "loser countries" are allowed to stay together- thereby eliminating the current balance of power.
The ASB's then decide that the new emperors will have ultimate power of loyalty (rebellions are not permitted) and can do whatever they want.
... What would happen?
Second. Assume that 5-10 years after this, the ASB's decide to just leave, thereby allowing rebellions... What would happen then?
In the stories I imagine, usually what happens at the second part is the world votes on weather or not to keep the emperors - and of course, I'm the only one they vote to keep due to my awesomeness :D
