You are shanghaied by ASBs for their top-sikret Yggdrasil team, which has to keep Tree of History nicely trimmed and fruitful. As a part of your training you get enough knowledge to pass for an average local anywhere and anytime, some combat training (again, you would be slightly above average, but not exceptional with most kinds of warfare), your health is restored to perfect for your age after each mission, and your immune system is upgraded in such a way that you never get any infections, including non-bacterial.
However, you must select your own equipment. Total weight must not exceed 50 kgs, it should be something available today, either off the shelf or custom-built. (no cost limit)
What would you choose? (Missions could be anything from just talking to someone to single-handedly bootstrapping Industrial Revolution X years earlier than OTL, and you don't know what mission it would be when you select your equipment.)

Wait, so we pick the equipment and you choose the mission or something?

No, I just want to see what people would want for the equipment. Although, some reference mission is probably a good idea to focus the thoughts... Ok, here it is:
You are ISoTed to Stockholm in 1690, and have to prevent Sweden from losing any territory for 40 years by any means necessary. ASB magic ensures that you won't die of natural causes for that long.
ADD: plus, when you are ISoTed back, your age is reset to whatever it was before. (So ASBs don't have to retire theirr agents too often.)

I'm bringing a M82 Barett, a S&W Model 500 Revolver, and two AK47s with Drums.
I'll wait to after the battle of Narva, than crash in and assassinate Peter the Great, then Charles, so that way, the Parliament can call in peace with Poland.

Well, not a bad plan (except for Peter not being with his army at Narva during the actual battle), but how you ensure that peace would be kept for all remaining 30 years? Since Peter's heir Alexei is just 10 years old then, much would depend on who would be the regent... I'm not that sure that Poland won't try to attack Sweden again either.

No, I would sneak into Moscow and get Peter, that way, his plan on reforming the army to resurge against Sweden never comes to light.
Poland was activly trying for peace, after Charles took out Hungary I beleive. Charles wasn't listening, despite the Parliament wanting it. So, if I took out Charles after Peter after Narva. There's a good chance the Sweden walks away with even more territory.

No matter what event in the past one had to influence I think the two prerequisites are personal survival and huge amounts of information. To that end I'd have high end military kit; personal weapons, ammo and other gadgets. For the info a top of the line laptop full of a huge range of info on all manner of subjects of historical value.
As for things I'd change, I like Byzantium so perhaps something between before Manzikert or during the Crusades. My other two likes are the colonisation of Nth America before Columbus' discovery, by fishermen etc going to Cape Cod and the colonisation of Australia after discovery of the good bits by the Dutch.

I bring Peter Englunds Poltava and Voltaires Charles XII and Herman Lindquists fall of the swedish empire(part of his swedish history books spanning from the death of Charles X to the end of the great nordic war).
Then i bring a medical tech book about how to operate on someone that have stomachcancer and some penicillin and other nice things and have doctors operate on Charles XI so he didnt die from stomachcancer.
I also bring documents of how to distribute the lands for farming so that every farmer can grow more crops.
Then a book on how to make repeating rifles and how to industrialise the country.
For myself i bring a claymore and place it somewere where Peter of Russia and August of Poland-Saxony meet to make an alliance. Without Peter Russia falls back into chaos for years.

Wow, you went a different direction I did. I let Charles have his little war up to a point, then killed him and Peter. Poland would evantually sue for peace, because it was the Russians that gave Sweden problems later.

Yes, but what am i going to do if i am dropped into Sweden in 1690? Pretend to be a farmer for 10 years?
Kill off Peter and Russia falls back into chaos it was before him.
Kill off August and Poland remans run by nobels that dont agree on anything.

WelI, the more I think the less I'm sure killing Peter is really that good an idea... Great Northern War wasn't just his fancy, territory he sought was of interest to all tsars since Ivan The Terrible. And "chaos" in this case will mean regency of some kind, not anything ike The Time of Troubles... And what we will do with a powerful regent still wanting Sweden, and ready to modernize his military? (without beard taxes and westernization of civil life.)
What about _redirecting_ Peter's attention instead? Say to Ottoman Empire. Arriving to Moscow as merchant or mercenary captain, impressing him with some minor techology trick (pasteurisation would work)... Persuading him that Constantinople is far better than some swamp in the north, and rightfully his, and with some innovations even possible to take without alliances in the West. (All those innovations somehow are leaking to Sweden, BTW. :D)
Whatever way full-scale war with Turks would turn out, it surely will be no shorter than GNW even with a tech edge.
What is needed is probably some portable wealth (gems will do,) and abovementioned laptop+means to charge it. Probably a printer retrofitted to work on down-time paper sizes and software/fonts to give text down-time look and spelling.
In fact I think two laptops, just in case, plus memorizing how to build a charger. (7 kg, all state of the art custom-built stiuff could be light and rugged.)
Say, 10 kg of modern weaponry, just in case.
20 kg of stuff which is hard to produce down-time but which might be used to produce more (thermometers, measurement cubes, that sort of thing.)
the rest would be medical stuff...
