Ok, so does this mean that the Soviet Union were basically the Orks from Warhammer? They paint their vehicles red and they believe in the tenant of "More Dakka."

I wonder how low the bomber needed to fly for the guns to have any effect.

The story of the Kakure Kirishitans of Japan sounds especially AH. Basically, the Japanese Christians persecuted by the Tokugawa Shogunate were forced underground, and their version of Christianity eventually 'went native', so to speak, and assimilated many features of Japanese Buddhism and Shinto. Here's a Kirishitan statue of the Virgin Mary:

I'm still waiting for videos of that damn thing in use.

And don't quote pictures.

eventually; its mainly because there's too much information to put in a word document like i do with the stuff im writing to eventually publish (the ASB ATL more or less cant because its based on Code Geass and few--but significant--shared content) because it quite literally covers all of human history (again, its ASB) and its simply easier to organize it all on a wiki-type site that only i can edit. its also intentionally being written to be both familiar and strange (the main driving factor behind it is to be used as the backdrop for an action RPG)

ive started lots of threads over the course of my membership here asking about things for the ATL (partly so that i dont overwhelm people with mountains of information)

but, in any case, this isnt the thread to talk about it

I think that's been mentioned in here once before - as I remember it the Japanese Christians didn't have a Japanese language bible when the missionaries were all expelled, so they wrote a new bible using what they could remember. I think the immaculate conception evolved to involve Mary swallowing a butterfly, which was God's "seed".

Also, they sometimes depicted Christ as a Buddha-like figure:

"Swiss army hat" from Popular Science, 1919. Not sure if this counts for this thread because it's obviously a far-fetched Popular Science concept, but I liked it nonetheless.

For some reason the version of the royal coat of arms on the Articles of Union has a motto of "Semper eadem" (Always the Same) rather than the more usual Dieu et mon Droit...

Apparently it's Lizzy the First's motto. It is very English.

Propaganda directed at anti-union Jacobite types? "Move along, nothing happening here, just the same as always..."

The kids are selfish brats, and you can get mugged walking your dog. More people smoke pot here than in Amsterdam. There are five high schools-no one counts tolgate-which are Assumption, BCI, North Park, PJ, and St. John's. The town has limited night spots, and these spots are trashy dumps. But still, Brantford is the coolest place in Canada. You have to live here to get it.
Person One: Give me your money. Person Two: Are you from Brantford? Person One: How did you know? Person Two: Because you're jumping me....and you're a vodka-obsessed, crystal meth loving, ford planter slut. Person One: You are correct. Good day.

The city of Xai-Xai is the capital of Gaza Province in Mozambique.

It makes me thing of a scenario where southern Mozambique gets massive amount of immigration of China and Palestinian refugees.

I want one.

I like how the crown can be used as a cooking utensil. Also that it appears to be fired by a mouth tube, and it is meant to be fired using "instinctive vision".
