top tv shows NEVER MADE...

The Last Viking.

Alexander Ludwig stars in a historical epic based on the best selling book series dramatising the life of Harald Hardrada from his exile to his death at Stamford Bridge. Highly praised for the battle scenes, the series did cause some controversy by portraying Harald as a staunch pagan opposed to Christianity.

PEANUTS:
An adaptation of many of the comics made by Charles Monroe Schulz, Peanuts is something of an enigma, like the source material. The show lasted from 2004 to 2011 and aired on the Fox network during the afternoon. Unlike the original source material, Peanuts featured more character development for the characters and world with the main cast changing though the episodes for the plots. The show was created in memorial of Schulz who had passed away 3 years before Season 1 started development. The series ended with the hour long special, "Happiness is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown" which focused on Linus Van Pelt as he doubts if his blanket is all that good for him.

Is this animated? If so, the best bet is for it to air on primetime considering Fox Kids was dead by that point....unless Fox Kids survived in your TL...But this is a good idea.

Yes it's animated! And Fox Kids does survive! Instead Kids WB became defunct thanks to switch of shows (Fox Kids gets Pokémon (Dubbed by Funimation) and Kids WB gets Digimon (Still dubbed by Saban)).

Pirates of the Caribbean - On Stranger Tides (2011)
1718. Twenty years before he became known as "Captain" Jack Sparrow, Jack Teague was but a lowly cabin boy and the unwanted son of a Pirate Lord. In order to prove himself, he unwittingly signs up with the infamous Blackbeard and joins his expedition to find the Fountain of Youth. But there is treachery afoot on the high seas as Jack not only has to deal with Blackbeard, but his devilishly cunning daughter Angelica, as well as an ambitious fellow cabin boy named Hector Barbossa...

A miniseries prequel to the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Aired on ABC and the Disney Channel for 10 episodes. Vaguely inspired by Tim Power's novel On Stranger Tides. Johnny Depp returns as coproducer as well as the narrator, a role he retains for the next two series.

Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Men Tell No Tales (2013)
1722. Four years after surviving Blackbeard's ill-fated expedition to find the Fountain of Youth, Jack Teague is now first officer on the Wicked Wench, one of the ships on the infamous Bartholomew Roberts' pirate fleet. However, Jack seems reluctant to serve even under a famous captain - not at least because of Robert's investments and participation in the slave trade. All that changes when Commodore Armando Salazar, a feared veteran of the Spanish Navy, is given carte blanche to exterminate pirates on the high seas. Escaping with the Wench and taking command with Hector Barbossa as his first mate, Jack also discovers that Salazar is secretly after a powerful artifact known as the Trident of Poseidon, which could give its owner mastery of the sea...

Sequel to On Stranger Tides, also ran for 10 episodes on ABC and the Disney Channel. Vaguely inspired by Rob Kidd's Jack Sparrow young reader's novels The Sword of Cortes and Poseidon's Peak.

Pirates of the Caribbean - The Price of Freedom (2015)
1725. Three years after defeating Armando Salazar and earning a pardon thanks to the efforts of Cutler Beckett, Jack Teague, now known as Jack Sparrow, serves the East India Trading Company, albeit reluctantly. Though he still has command of his beloved Wicked Wench, aided by his ever reliable first mate Barbossa and able quartermaster Joshamee Gibbs, a desire to return to a pirate's life takes hold in Jack's mind. And just his luck as the opportunity arises when Beckett commissions Jack to take a load of slaves to the Africa one of whom holds a secret that could lead to the city of Zerzua, said to hold a treasure beyond reckoning...

The third and final installment of the ABC/Disney Channel Pirates of the Carribbean prequel miniseries trilogy. Adapts A.C. Crispin's The Price of Freedom novel.

These are great! They'd also be a GREAT way to expand the franchise! Are these animated or live-action?

So Fox doesn't deal with Saban? And how did Funimation get Pokémon?
Well Fox still works with Saban to bring Power Rangers to the west but it's a bit like 4Kids IOTL. Funimation was the one to get the rights to dub the Pokémon anime after a small bidding war happened in 1997 over who could dub the anime.

Rengo KantaI (1989)
A 52-episode series portraying the Pacific War as told by Isoroku Yamamoto (So Yamamura), Matome Ugaki (Keiju Kobayashi), Tetsuzo Iwamoto (Testuya Watari), and Mitsuru Yoshida (Yusaku Matsuda). Based on each men's memoirs and diaries, as well as the Senshi Sosho, the official JSDF history of the war. Produced by Toho, released on NTV. Notable for the extensive use of miniatures and scale models of various Pacific War ships, all of which reside today at the Yamato Museum in Kure.

Later reedited into a theatrical movie that ran for four hours and released in limited theatres the same year. The premiere was pushed back by a month due to Emperor Hirohito's passing. This was also Yusaku Matsuda's last role, as he died due to bladder cancer in November of 1989. The last episode was dedicated to his memory.

Victory in the Pacific (1991)
A twenty-part miniseries that dramatizes the Pacific War through the eyes of Chester Nimitz, Raymond Spruance, Dick O'Kane, and Eugene Sledge.

This would be a beauty to watch. Based on his performance in Tora Tora Tora, however, I found So Yamamura to be a bit too emotional for Yamamoto; Toshiro Mifune remains the best actor to portray him if you ask me. I like your choice of Keiju Kobayashi for Ugaki, though, and it's nice to see you've retained Tetsuya Watari as Iwamoto.

Much appreciated!

I’m in the mood for the OTL movie and much as I like it, there is a lot of room for improvement. I decided to swap out the fictional characters and replace them with people who actually left their memoirs.

Other than that, assume that most of the cast from that movie kept their roles, except for Nagumo (TTT!’s Eijiro Tono replacing Nobuo Kaneko).

Although, I might try to develop this more, so maybe I can squeeze some more stuff out of this.

Agreed on Mifune being the best Yamamoto though - I like how he even got the real admiral’s habit of doing head stands!
